NPS Roosevelt Farm Lane & Hudson Valley Welcome Center

Hyde Park, NY

CRJA-IBI Group completed the study of the carriage road used by Franklin D. Roosevelt to travel between his home and Val-Kill, Eleanor Roosevelt’s home, for its potential as a multi-use trail and shuttle route.

The study included analysis of the existing conditions (natural and cultural resources), feasibility of different users (pedestrians, bicycles, van, and busses) as well as viewshed and vegetation management. The Roosevelt Farm Lane developed as an accessible trail so all park visitors may experience the landscape of FDR’s home on the Hudson in a manner similar to the way he may have decades ago.

CRJA-IBI Group is also responsible for pre-design and programming for a new Hudson Valley Transportation and Tourism Center associated with the home of FDR in Hyde Park, NY.

This facility will serve as a transportation hub for mid-Hudson Valley visitors.
