Glenmeadow II Continuing Care Retirement Community
Working with the project architects, CRJA-IBI Group provided planting, a green roofdeck garden, and general site design and irrigation consulting for this 121-unit assisted and independent living development situated on 15.5 acres of a 47-acre site.
For this phase, CRJA-IBI Group designed a perimeter walk leading to planned nature trails and a gazebo. Year-round color is provided by over 70 species of trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs, including many old-fashioned plants, which were selected for their familiarity and fragrance. Flowering trees and shrubs screen parking and provide a cutting garden for residents who are able to pick several varieties of blueberries, planted in clusters around the property.
Raised planters of flowering trees, shrubs, and perennials divide the 13,000 sq ft, green roof plaza into three major outdoor rooms which accommodate quiet sitting areas and support activities such as outdoor dining, concerts, and accessible gardening.
